The Vision: Your intranet. Your way. MyNewable.
Newable is a new name for an old company delivering a disparate collections of services. As such, the organization was less the sum of its parts and this was acting as a barrier to growth. The opportunity was to use digital technologies in order to increase the cross disciplinary engagement of internal staff and stakeholders. In turn, this would help staff promote the organization to external customers.
We adopted User Centric Design principles. We conducted User Experience (UX) research and workshops and adopted Agile methodologies to deliver MVP working prototypes that facilitated a feedback loop during the development process. Our insight work revealed that users wanted an “app like”, mobile first experience and wanted a seamless journey across web, social and intranet. They wanted it to be customizable, “their” intranet not the company’s which led to MyNewable concept.
The Reality: We were able increase engagement and feedback by including a polling app, a comment, sharing and liking function, and a chat stream built into MyNewable. The staff profile and advanced search function (utilizing SharePoint capability) enabled staff to identify colleagues that could provide specialize expertise to support their work promoted greater collaboration. Content included team profiles and “newbies @ Newable” features introducing new staff.
